The Business Services Department provides a reliable, knowledgeable infrastructure of business, administrative, and financial services to Monterey County's 24 school districts, two community colleges, and four joint powers agencies.
We provide comprehensive payroll, budgeting, and accounting systems, which enable districts to more efficiently plan, record, maintain, and report financial transactions.
The Business Services Department also provides fiscal oversight to the school districts in the County. We review the district budgets, their unaudited financial statements, analyze interim financial reports, intervene on behalf of financially troubled districts, and follow up on district audit exceptions.
The Department also provides user support for the Escape financial system, which is used to maintain all district financial transactions.
Business Services offers a wide variety of training opportunities to provide information and increase skill levels of MCOE and school districts.
