M E S S A G E F R O M Y O U R C O U N T Y S U P E R I N T E N D E N T O F S C H O O L S Dear Monterey County Residents, The Monterey County Office of Education (MCOE) is pleased to present the 2017 Annual Report to the Community. Public education in California is now entrusted to a great degree to local level control with increased accountability for continuous progress across a variety of indicators of school excellence. Each of these indicators are detailed in “dashboards.” In response to these exciting new developments, MCOE has developed a comprehensive Strategic Plan focused on nine priorities with goals to bring MCOE’s mission and vision to life.
