Salinas, CA – The Monterey County Office of Education (MCOE) is excited to invite parents, families and the entire community to the upcoming 2024 Parent Symposium and Resource Fair. This event, which is free to attend, will take place on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at Hartnell College in Salinas. This all-day event, running from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., is designed to support parents in ensuring their child’s success in education by bringing together parents, educators, and community members to empower families with essential resources, information, and support.

With the theme: “Our Children, Our Community, Our Future,” MCOE’s Parent Symposium will feature expert-led workshops, a keynote speaker, and a resource fair offering a wealth of information to help families navigate the educational system and challenges of parenting in today’s world. To ensure that the event is accessible to all, free childcare will be available on-site, along with complimentary breakfast and lunch for all participants.

“The event aims to provide a comprehensive platform for parents and guardians across Monterey County to engage with educational leaders and community organizations. MCOE and its partners are excited to offer a diverse array of information and resources to support families and their children,” said Dr. Deneen Guss, Monterey County Superintendent of Schools. “This Parent Symposium and Resource Fair is about empowering parents with the knowledge and resources they need to ensure their student’s success. We are thankful to the parent partners who helped plan this event, whose insights and dedication have been instrumental in shaping a program that truly meets the needs of our community.”

The Parent Symposium is a unique opportunity for local organizations to connect with the community during the scheduled resource fair, showcase their services, and contribute to an event that is certain to have a positive impact on families throughout Monterey County.
