Salinas Community School Unveils New Family Resource Center
Salinas, Ca. – The Monterey County Office of Education (MCOE) is thrilled to announce the opening of a Family Resource Center at the Salinas Community School, providing a dedicated space for students, families, and community members to access a wide range of support services and educational resources. The Monterey County Office of Education’s Homeless Children and Youth Services Program and the California Community School Partnership program partnered together to develop and fund the Family Resource Center.
MCOE invites the media, local dignitaries, and our school communities, as well as local families, to join us:

Come explore the Family Resource Center space, tour the school, meet staff, and learn about the services offered. We believe that the new Family Resource Center will play a vital role in strengthening our community and supporting the educational journey of our students.
"The Family Resource Center at the Salinas Community School is the embodiment of our commitment to the success of our students and their families," said County Superintendent of Schools Dr. Deneen Guss. "We believe that a strong partnership between families and our schools is crucial for the overall growth and development of our students. This Family Resource Center will be a place where students and parents can connect, learn, and find the resources they need."
The center will provide a wide range of services, including:
● Workshops and seminars on parenting, literacy, and career development
● Educational resources, counseling, and support for parents and students
● Access to computers and the internet for research and learning
● Information on community resources and referrals
Additionally, the Family Resource Center will provide a variety of services and resources to assist our children and youth experiencing homelessness, and will serve all school districts, charter schools, alternative education programs, and preschool programs.
About the Salinas Community School: The Salinas Community School provides core instructional programs, expanded learning opportunities, as well as a range of services that support students’ physical, mental, and social-emotional health and other needs through partnerships with a variety of community members and organizations.
