2016 Constitution Day

2016 Constitution Day

Monday, Sep 19, 2016

Hundreds of students across Monterey County learned about the U.S. Constitution from Monterey County judicial officers who volunteered their time to teach elementary and middle school students about the Constitution.

The Monterey County Superior Court and the Monterey County Office of Education collaborated to provide school visits in honor of Constitution Day which became a national observance in 2004, when Senator Robert Byrd passed a bill designating September 17 as the day for citizens to commemorate the signing of the U.S. Constitution and learn more about our founding document.
