Early Head Start Exhibit Now Open

Salinas, CA – Little Hands, Big Possibilities, an exhibit showcasing the artistic creations of children under the age of three, is now on display at the Monterey County Office of Education (MCOE), 901 Blanco Circle in Salinas.

The art show, sponsored by MCOE’s Early Head Start (EHS) program, is aimed at raising awareness about the Early Head Start program and the learning that happens during the infant and toddler years.

“These young artists have just begun to express themselves,” said Dr. Nancy Kotowski, County Superintendent of Schools. “They’ve brought us such joy and smiles, and this creativity will carry through with all of their learning.”

More than 70 pieces are included in the show, including several group projects produced by Early Head Start parents.

“In the Early Head Start program, the parents are equal partners,” said Dora McKean, EHS educator. “We wanted to give parents an opportunity to work in groups, be creative, and reflect on what is meaningful for them.”

The exhibit is free and open to the public. It will remain open during business hours through Friday, March 20.
