At MCOE, our accredited programs offer a transformative pathway to achieving your California Credential. Designed for educators seeking a personalized and innovative learning journey, our programs focus on job-embedded inquiry cycles aligned with California’s Standards.

Educator Credential Programs

The MCOE offers two Teacher Residency programs. Teacher residency offers a supported path to a preliminary credential, pairing aspiring educators with experienced mentors for a year-long co-teaching placement while receiving a living stipend. We are partnered with two high quality institutions: CSUMB and Alder GSE. At the completion of the program, participants will earn a preliminary credential.

MCOE Teacher Induction Programs (TIP)

MCOE’s two-year Teacher Induction Program is designed to support the development and growth of new teachers. With research-based professional learning, a robust mentoring system, individual support, and an individualized learning plan, each Candidate will successfully reach the requirements for a Clear Teaching Credential. Our program is designed to be job-embedded and fit your individual needs.

MCOE Clear Administrative Services Credential (CASC)

The MCOE Clear Administrative Services Credential Program (CASC) supports the preparation and development of highly-qualified educational leaders. Through strong, trusting, and personalized leadership coaching with relevant professional learning experiences, Candidates will be able to impact the success of our learning communities throughout Monterey County and across the region.

MCOE Classified Grant

Become a Teacher!

Exciting news! MCOE continues to offer the Classified Grant for the 2024-2025 academic year. This is an amazing opportunity for all currently employed Classified Staff in a Monterey County district who are pursuing their Bachelor's degree and/or classroom teaching credential at a CA-accredited college or university. The grant will reimburse up to $4,800 for qualified educational expenses, so don't miss out on this fantastic chance to further your education and advance your career!
