The Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) is the State of California agency authorized to issue credentials to California educators and service professionals.

The Monterey County Office of Education is a CTC-accredited induction program authorized to submit clear credential recommendations to the CTC for both teachers and administrators. Eligible credentials for program placement include:

  • Preliminary Multiple Subject
  • Preliminary Single Subject
  • Preliminary Education Specialist
  • Clear Administrative Services Credential

The staff at the Monterey County Office of Education has expertise in deciphering credential codes, assessing equivalencies for work from other agencies/programs, re-activating expired credentials, and applying new regulations that have gone into effect since the issuance of your initial California credential. Whether you only need to complete an induction program or whether you also have additional statutory renewal requirements, we provide an individualized completion plan to all eligible candidates who pursue their California clear teaching credential through our program. Credential advisement services are included as part of the induction candidate’s enrollment and ongoing participation.
