Medical Health / Nursing

Every year, the County Superintendent of Schools apportions funds to small school districts. These small districts decide if they would like to utilize their funds for county services such as technological support or educational training; included among these are a limited number of days of school psychologist and/or school nurse services. MCOE Special Education Division psychologists may be asked to perform an assessment for a small district student; school nurses may be asked to review immunizations, perform vision checks, or teach components of the California Healthy Youth Act.
