Forms of Violence
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Website, school violence is violence that occurs in the school setting. It describes violent acts that disrupt learning and have a negative effect on students, schools, and the broader community. School is the location where the violence occurs, not a type of violence.
Violence comes in many forms and can affect the physical, mental, and emotional health of victims. The non-physical aspects of violence can lead to poor behavioral outcomes, drug and alcohol use, and a host of psychological problems.
