School Boards Association

Monterey County School Boards Association logo

The Monterey County School Boards Association's (MCSBA) mission is to advocate for quality schools and ensure the highest levels of achievement for all students by providing visionary leadership and high-quality services to school districts. MCSBA coordinates education and training programs to assist board members in carrying out their roles and to govern more effectively.

School board members are locally elected public officials entrusted with governing a community's public schools. To learn more about the role and responsibilities of school board members, visit MCOE's County Board webpage.

In additional to resources and training opportunities provided by the MCSBA, the California School Boards Association provides professional guidance, training and resources to school board members. For more information, visit the California School Boards Association's website.

Each district school board can appoint a member to serve as a MCSBA Executive Council Member. The association meets up to three times each year to plan and customize annual goals and training in support of all school board members.
