Welcome to the Alternative Education Programs Alternative Education Career Center!

Would you like to learn how to enroll in Hartnell or Monterey Peninsula College? Are you interested in work study? Have you considered a Career Tech Ed Pathway? You are in the right place!

Career Development

All Alternative Education Students are enrolled in a Career Foundations Course in Odysseyware. After completion of the Foundations Career Course the student is able to enroll in a designated pathway of career courses. Students’ access career coursework through digital options Odysseyware and Virtual Job Shadow. Students can apply to the work-study program at the beginning of each semester. During their work-study term the students will compete a 21st Century Skill course and 100 hours of paid work.

Concurrent Enrollment Qualifications for MPC and Hartnell

Concurrent enrollment at MPC and Hartnell requires planning and coordination with the school Transition Specialist no less than one month in advance of the college semester.

All students enrolled in Alternative Programs may be eligible for concurrent enrollment. Faculty will evaluate student preparedness for the concurrent enrollment. Academic skills, attendance, transportation plan and course credit needs will be considered.

Consensus is required for enrollment by the following; School Principal (and if applicable for student- Case Manager, Special Education Teacher, and Probation Officer)

Present Concurrent Enrollment Form form to College and Career/Technology Coordinator for administrative approval and enrollment.

Subsequent steps for enrollment / admissions process will be coordinated by the College and Career/Technology Coordinator utilizing the 7 steps for success as published by Hartnell College.
