Word 200 Template FAQ

1. How do I save my document as a template in the My Templates Folder?

Mac: File > Save As > File Format > Word Template (.docx) > Set your template name and save.

Windows: Before creating your template, go to File > New > My Templates. Click on “Blank Document” and then in the lower right corner click on “Template.” Press Okay. Once done with your template, save and give it a recognizable name.

2. How do I edit my saved templates?

Mac: Open the Finder. In the top menu bar, click on Go > Go to Folder. In the box that appears, type in ~/Library/Application Support/Microsoft/Office/User Templates and press enter. A window with your saved templates will appear. Double click to edit or right click and select “delete” to delete.

Windows: Click on the start button (lower left corner of screen). In the “Search programs and files” box, type in %APPDATA%/Microsoft/Templates and press enter. A window with your saved templates will appear. Double click to edit or right click and select “delete” to delete.
